NEW SONG POSTED!!!! http://www.thesixtyone.com/Names/song/Frozen/aPggHJS8P7v/
Names did sound for our first video! It was an honor to work with such a talented animator. Go check it out if you have a sec.
Song I wrote last week.. singing to my Christmas lights.
Cloudy day in Vancouver. Drinking my morning coffee and waiting for the snow to start falling. I came across this beautiful song which fits the mood perfectly.. and it’s set over an amazing aquarium scene. “Please Don’t Go” by Barcelona. Enjoy.
It’s strange how much and what you know about an artist can affect how you hear their music. I’m a huge fan of Milosh and I’m pretty sure I like this video to a large degree because I know that the music on his record is almost entirely electronic and sounds miles away from a traditional acoustic set up. If I didn’t know that, this might come across as just another acoustic...
Frozen.
It’s too cold to sleep
And it’s only the start
Soon we’ll be frozen
Right from the heart
And the beautiful pain

4:41am. Amy wins.
So, I could kill Jay for sending me a really sweet beat at 3:30am, that I obsessively couldn’t put down until I recorded vocals. I think I’ve got something. They might...
Staying up so goddamn late.
Makin’ beats. mmm beets. As far as responsibility goes today I shit the bed. Waited in the freezing cold for 45 minutes for a bus that never came, turned around and came home with the new intent of writing a song. I got something, but I don’t know if it’s good at all.
Mondays in the Studio
We’re heading back into the studio tomorrow to mix one of our latest songs.. a faster one this time. The day will most likely include dinner from the vending machine, and Amy desperately trying to make coffee but finding none of the supplies, while Jay plays with the piano next door. We’re both great procrastinators. How we ever manage to get anything done is beyond me. Although, one...
Names: the hardest band to search on the internet
It’s taking us forever, but we’re slowly clawing our way out of the pre-web-page 1990’s mentality still embedded in our brains and getting involved with all of the sites we should’ve been getting on months and months ago.
We are still battling the tragedy of being late to the game on getting good urls and pretty much every site we have except the lovely T61 can’t be...
